Urban Street Design Guidelines (USDG)
The Urban Street Design Guidelines are intended to help the City accommodate growth in several ways. “Transportation choice” is the premise for the Guidelines. This means building streets that are easier to use by more types of travelers – by people who want to walk, ride transit, or ride bicycles.

Transportation Action Plan (TAP)
The Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT) recommends $3.5 billion be spent on transportation projects by year 2030. Up to 450 miles of bikeways are included. Members of the bicycle community have participated in this ongoing process.

City-Wide Bicycle Master Plan
Update, major revisions and additions to the 1999 Master Plan. Final report due April 2008. Toole Design and Land Design bicycle planning consultants for plan development process.

Greenway System Plans and Maps
Charlotte’s Greenway system is expanding rapidly as a result of successful bond issue votes.
