VOLUNTEER FOR CABA

The backbone of any nonprofit organization is its members. In order to better serve the community and advance the cause of bicycling, we need not only membership financial support but membership time. Some members squeeze in a few hours licking stamps or addressing envelopes despite busy schedules. Others get directly involved pulling off major bicycle events or lobbying for bicycle friendly legislation.

CABA is an advocacy organization. There are numerous barriers to overcome, but there is also an abundance of possibilities to fulfill. For CABA to be effective members need to step forward when they are frustrated by something going wrong out there, whether it is a city agency not performing in our best interests, or behavior of drivers or other bicyclists which hamper safety, or lobbying CMS to allow children to bike to school safely.

Some of our priority needs are as follows:

1) Grant research and writing.

2) Membership development.

3) Digital and hardcopy press releases and other communication with individuals and groups.

4) Event planning.

5) Additional Board of Director members needed - especially female and minority members
